Challenge #800 (19/10/18) Entries CLOSED

(Tarik Krug) #12

I was actually thinking of doing something like this

(Tarik Krug) #13

Oh ok…Well it’s your opnion thought but I will do some more research

(Tarik Krug) #14

That is a nice idea!

It’s beautiful! but I agree that it needs more lighting it also reminds me of fungi stuff that grows in tree barks

Ps: your image has a funny name but I think some people are not gonna like it

(sdfgeoff) #17

Type: Pure
Name: Terraform

Description: A planet phasing into existance

Other notes:
This image was rendered in blender internal (node shader). Interestingly, this isn’t the image I wanted to make. It’s a flipped negative sign in a fresnel effect in the atmosphere of the planet, but I liked the result and rendered it out. I finished up my original idea for the image, but upon review I preferred this one. So this is what it is.

I’m really going to miss playing with the non-physically-correct-artistic-stuff when the 2.8 is released and BI goes away.

My entry is pretty simple this week, it’s a open entry. Maybe I’ll add some DOF later.

Wow! that’s a lot of work

(RayVelcoro) #20

If you do it manually it sure is. But when using the add-on CubeSter its only a few mouse clicks away. Render it with the AO pass enabled and ur already halfway there.

(Tarik Krug) #21

Ahhhhh…I thought you did manually

(FinalBarrage) #22

Im inn this weekend, This is the main character of the entry :stuck_out_tongue:

(beau11) #23

How can you go wrong!

(icyou520) #24

This started out as a bowl of red M&M’s with 1 Blue M&M - Ehhh to basic
Then it turned into a Skittles character trying to fit in with all the M&M Characters - ehhh didnt really fit the theme of contrast.

I recently read that hard candy was invented because Chocolate kept melting in the summer time. So I thought an epic fight between an M&M with a Jolly Rancher on the register counter should be fun.

I only hope I have enough time to finish it. I can already tell this jolly rancher wrapper is going to be a headache to make look correct.

(FlyingBanana) #26

@icyou520 Thank you! still a ton for this old blenderer to learn though

(FinalBarrage) #27

hehe i dont think anyone is mad enough to do that manually :stuck_out_tongue:

(FlyingBanana) #28

Blockquote hehe i dont think anyone is mad enough to do that manually :stuck_out_tongue:

LOL Yeah that would be insane. Insanity by cubism!

Quick Entry this week. Hit you guys with the @beau11 classic sunset image.
Open due to some reference images used.

@beau11 I don’t think I would call it open if it was just a reference image. Now if the reference image was used in the actual rendered entry then I would probably call it open. Reference images are almost a must, the brain forgets so many details and only focuses on the important info so without a reference image you may forget how Fruit Loops/Froot Loops is actually spelled on the box without an image to remind you.

(beau11) #31

I mean I modeled the guy and plane straight off of the image so it’s definitely not my own work. I don’t wanna take any votes from any other pure entries out there, I have a busy week so i made this quickly.
