Challenge #84 Entries (16/01/04) CLOSED

Theme #84 for 16 january 2004 is: Elements

The four basic elements water, fire, air, earth. Chemical elements like gold, copper, carbon etc. Elemental forces, thunderstorms, earthquakes, volcanoes etc. Whatever you can imagine that has something to do with “Elements”.

Entries closes at 2100 GMT -5 Monday, 19 january 2004.

Ran out of time, so try to imagine it with lots of fire.

NOTE: My site is having some problems right now, but my provider assures me it should be up again soon (we’ll see)

Last weekend I was sick. Had the flu. But this weekend I again will rock this challenge…

Here is my entry. This picture show’s it all: fire, water, earth and air. Except for the background-picture, which I found on the internet, and the text, this is a pure entry. Colorcorrected with The GIMP. Enjoy!

[edit] Not enough time. Next week maybe.

here is my entry :

Pure, all textures procedurals, no postprocessing apart croping.

To extract gold from earth with a pan, you need water to wash it, mercury (chemical), then put the mix on a fire so that the mercury vaporize in the air.

This entry was mainly a pretext to play with the new displacement feature. I’m quite amazed by the speed of the thing even if settings are not so easy. (400 000 faces when rendering)

I’m new to blender and still have some problems with textures settings too[/u]

Elements. This is what you find in God’s soda machine. No ordinary man should consume them. Anyway its pure.

Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! Wait a minute, HEART? -Desoto (Loose quote)

Completely pure, with only the water being a non-procedural texture.

This image was formed in my brain by several things:
Teeth´s explanation of the theme “elements”
And the 2 Dutch champions on the sprint-skating-world-cup this morning (I´m a dutchie)

It isn’t perfect since i had some problems with the render (it took too long time when i raised subdivision) maybe I’ll fix a new render(but it’s not really much time for that…)
And it’s open, I couldn’t bring myself to model in blender instead of wings…

Ooops… It seems like I confused element with radiator… in swedish they’re both called element. %|
