I wanted to make a sort of green shanty tower town.
In the future, the high council has passed a bill that prohibits people to live at ground level so that nature may retake the land. The rich live in giant luxurious towers in the middle of the sea while the poor had to make plans of their own to survive the purge, they drew inspiration from giant utility poles that connects the sea cities and started building their own towers out of scrap and garbage.

The high council saw their efforts and allowed them to return to ground level for 3 hours with a maximum or 5 people per tower a day so that they may scavenge more garbage. The scrap towers are almost self sufficient and is overgrown with greens, everyone has a garden. They are connected to each other via cable cars.

I wanted to do a scene where you could see most of the towers, on the right side would be the balcony of one of the towers with a cat sleeping and some plants. The floor level of the landscape would be filled with green like a rainforest. In the background would be a giant misty rainforest mountain

That sounds like an awesome scene , I hope you find time to do it and share it with us even if you can’t get it done for this comp.

“Cat Jenga”
Pure entry

A ton of firsts for me here.
First time:

  • Sculpting a cat
  • Rigging and weight painting
  • Using the physic simulator
  • Using HDR lighting sources

I wish I’d done a better job on the head/neck joint. I definitely needed 1 or 2 more bones in that area. I also wish I’d spent some time weight painting the fur, and it would have also been nice to color paint it as well.

I also used a single texture for all the jenga block. I wish I’d gotten a larger texture and figured out how to have each block randomize it’s UV map on the texture so they didn’t look quite so samey.

It bothers me quite a bit that the draw bridge doesn’t actually go anywhere…

Dream Towers

Non-competing. I have translated and adapted this eisenscript of Mikael Hvidtfeldt Christensen to python and Blender.

Hello everyone, this is my entry for for this week challenge:

“Kapla Eiffel tower” - Pure, Cycle

Images must be presented as a JPEG file, the size of which may not excede 250kB. Images can be any width or height.

Is the size limit still on or it is possible to go over the 250kB?

no one follows that rule, don’t know why it’s still up. my images are always uncompressed png’s.

you are not alone here.

Here is my entry…

HANOI TOWER ROBOT CHAMPION

Pure Blender 2.82a, Cycles render, only procedural textures.

After I made this, I decided to see if any real robots solved this famous “Tower of Hanoi” puzzle.

Sure enough, I found a nice YouTube video. The main action there starts around 1:30 min.
