It’s Cycles, not sure if that’s bidirectional or not.
It’s not bi-directional, which means Cycles does not handle caustics and transparencies as well.
Luxcore is bi-directional.
Your render is “convincing” enough for me, so I was wondering if it was done with Luxcore.
I tried the scene with a diffuse backdrop, but it didn’t look as realistic so I used a shinier metallic backdrop - perhaps the lack of caustics was the problem. Since all the surfaces have a lot of specular tracing from the camera gets a realistic result.
So what we see is more reflections than caustics.
Try out Luxcore and show us the comparison, maybe?
