“There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
Fun: You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
Glory: After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner picks the theme for next week.”
Haha, the game over screen. Playing late into the night, trying to beat that level, and then… that screen, that sound effect, that complete and utter defeat.
Pure - the cloud is using a geometry node setup I came up with a few weeks ago to add cloudy details on top of a low poly model.
I wasn’t planning to enter this weekend, but I was doodling a nice cloud shape and realised it would look like an explosion if I changed the shaders and lighting.
TBH I have complicated feeings about this given current events. Big explosions look cool but I feel like it’s kind of glorifying violence. Maybe I should remove the military theme, but it’s hard to see how it can be “defeat” unless there’s a conflict of some kind.
I see what you mean. But I don’t think that it has to be a glorification of violence. Like all those anti war movies which still have a high number of explosions. (And in most conflicts every side is loosing in one way or another, anyways.)
That being said, if you want to take this out of the war context: Pompeii was defeated without human contribution. And I guess, it must have been looking quite similar.
