The Birthday cake

non-competing, cycles

During covid19 I started to make Blender birthday cakes for friends. It’s an old model and the nodes are messed up after the last update but I still want to share it with you all  I won’t be able to do anything else or improve it since I’m flying to Finland tomorrow, hence the flag too

Self-Gifting

Pure, Cycles
An old man who has outlived all his friends bought a bunch of birthday presents for himself on the internet. When he picks up the gifts at the mailbox, he mumbles, “Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to me…”

Edited:
Most important: Sparky, the old man’s dog, got his own party hat now.
There are some new balloons in the left corner.
I pushed the beard a bit in the direction of the man’s walking path.

“Hatchling”

Pure, Flip fluids for the Egg goo, rigify for the neonate

I know that egg hatching is not technically birth, but I’m assuming any depiction of organic birth wouldn’t be appreciated

Pure. Happy 999 birthday Weekly challenge.

My first entry here was on challenge #110

Blender has improved a lot but I’m just as amateur as ever.

Back then this website was called something else, elysiun? It’s amazing that this challenge is still running after all this time!

Let’s hope he’s a bit senile too, so each gift will be a surprise!

Pure, eevee, all made in blender except the camera display texture. Funny pain, my system is too slow for this hairy thing.

My Cake Was Sooooo Big…
Pure, cycles.

I’m running out of extras to embellish this. Time to post.
This week’s things I learned - how to make an array follow a spiral; built and rigged a posable character. Duplicate like crazy…(I’ve always liked the little figures in that Escher drawing).

Things I need to learn - better hairdressing. (In Blender)

Things I should un-learn - pink icing with sprinkles.

Ha ha…

Many years ago we had a lady at work who didn’t want everyone to know it was her birthday. (Happens at a certain age). So we had her cake in the keypunch room instead of the lunch room. Once all the candles were lit, it set of the smoke detector and fire alarm, the whole building had to evacuate - because of her birthday. So the whole company knew…
