Change friction-value on collision?

Hi.

First I must say I’m NOT familiar with Python at all…

I’ve spent all night searching for a way to make a python script that detects a collision in BGE and alter the “friction” value in the materials tab for a certain object. Alternatively it can change material to an existing material with another frictionvalue.
It’s for an physics animation of a “prefractured” object. (about 80 seperate objects)

Unfortunately I have not found a solution to this. Seems I would have to learn scripting from scratch to work this out myself. So I turn to you guys and girls hoping for an easy fix

You can replace the whole object with an objects that has a different friction.
Or you replace the mesh with a mesh with a different friction
