Changing Axis Settings

It’s been a while since I’ve messed with Blender, and I can’t remember how to change the axis settings. I want a standard xyz with z depth. Thanks.

So far I like what I’m seeing in this 2.4x version. Hallelujah on changing the psychotic zoom control from log to lin! Little changes like that make a big difference in day to day work. All around, looking good folks, looking good.

By the way, that ad for Max at the top for only $2k is really funny…

Erm, just rotate everything. When you say “with Z depth”, which way do you mean?

The standard, afaik, is from top down, x and y horizontal with z as the depth.

If you want something different, just rotate the scene. I don’t know of any other way of doing it, or why you would really want to.

Z is UP by default. I want Z to be DEPTH, as in X (left to right), Y (up and down) and Z (in and out).

I dont think you can change them in blender.

If it is important, then you can always rotate everthing, the only problem being that the front/side/top views will not correlate properly. Still, if you just use the numpad keys then you could very quickly get used to this.

Ian

Hit Numpad-1 or 3 to goto Front or Side view.

Z is where it is because it’s like looking down on a piece of paper and that makes Z the depth.

Hmmm, I remember reading somewhere that the axis can be changed. I want Blender to correlate to standard axis settings. No big deal if it can’t be done, but I’d rather have standard axis settings if I can.
