Changing default friction ratio in rigid body physics

Hey all,

I’m new to blender and I want to simulate behaviour of granular soil using Blender.
To do so, I shattered a block using “cell fracture” tool to create randomly shaped soil particles (about thousands objects)
I want to assign a friction ratio to all of soil particles, but it is just feasible by selecting and assigning one-by-one of particles. Thus, it would be very overwhelming!

However, I didn’t give up! I opened the file entitled “Bullet_Viewport_Constraints_Tools-0374c.py” using gedit (I am using Ubunutu 13.10 and Blender 2.69.2) and in line 1095, I changed the default value of friction from 0.5 to 0.2 (which is my desired value), however this did not work for me!

FYI, I already did such manipulation in “Cell fracture” python file and it was quite successful, but this time not!

Any suggestion? help? advise?

There is a “copy to archive” option in the rigid body tools option to do so.
