I haven’t looked at this forum in a while. I checked it out and found your tutorial link.
These are great tutorials. Excellent. I consider myself to be pretty well versed in Blender’s animation system, and I picked up some really cool tricks. It’s also an excellent overview. You’ve left nothing out.
Did you ever post a link to these in the Finished Works or Blender Chat forum? Not everyone checks BlenderChar and I think these would be much appreciated.

One comment: in tut_charanim2.htm there are a number of image links apparently wrong. They’re pointing at the same image several times.
I can get as far as assigning the vertices to the bones…
When I move a bone or rotate it… the mesh stays the same.
If I hit Ctrl + Tab (I saw that in another tutorial) All’s it does is try to change my dessktops.
(Using RH Linux 8.0)

Ok… I just figured it out 
I have to hit the smilie face to enter the ctrl +tab mode and move the bone.
Figures I’d figure it out 3 minutes after posting a question about how to do it… Doh!

That’s funny! Not because you had to go through it because I was fighting the same thing with Mandrake. I was like, damn it, that is supposed to work then found the smiley face. LOL
