Character Bounces up and down

Gee whiz! I KNOW I asked this somewhere before, but I can’t find such a post!
Well, I’m working on my character again, building logic bricks and setting up the interactivity. Up until now, It’s worked out quite satisfactory, but when I make the character do a jump–or a backflip for that matter–when the character comes back to the ground, it bounces up and down.
From what I remember from the last time I posted this question:( whenever that was:( … it has something to do with the sumo physics.
But whenever I set it to bullet physics, the character goes flying off into the air like it was picked up in a gale of wind or something! I’ve done some testing to find the origin of this problem and I know it has something to be with the character being a dynamic actor.
I will be obliged at any help that can be offered…

Hey, SelfStudent! (nice use of captial letters…some seem to have forgotten them… )

Check your dynamic materials, if you have any. The restitution could be to high. This type of thing also happens to me in bullet, but it is only a minor jitter. Maybe form factor?

I’ve changed over to bullet, which can make games done in Sumo go screwy. I would still encourage you to use bullet, though!

Good luck, and may those smarter than me come soon and answer with wisdom:D

What are you using to make your character move, linV, dloc, of force?

and is this character a mesh with armatures alone or do you have an invisible cube around him/her? whenever i have armatures in the GE (theres your capital letters, Stu) i try to use an invisible box for all the movement
