Character Clothing Help


For clothing my character what would be the best way of approaching it?

Should I use CTRL-J to combine the clothing and character then add details and bake the normal map, then do rigging and weight painting?

Or is there a way to make 1 rig control the character and the clothing on top? Will this work well?

I’m assuming you’re talking about rigging clothing. No, it doesn’t need to be one mesh object. The cloth can have it’s own armature.

Yes, it’s using one armature applied to different mesh objects, i.e clothes.
