# Character gravity?

Hello, I just got a question about gravity. Let’s say my game character, should move just like croc…see video clip below.

How would I do that, should I use force or loc? And how would I make it so that he runs slow and then faster and then keeps that speed. Until you release the button, and he slows down again?

I’m not good at logic at all, but if someone could explain to me how I would make the character move like croc. Make a small tutorial or something. Because right now it’s like he is skiing on ice…and I can’t find any tutorial on the subject online either…

What is your current system for moving the character? By the gravity “question” are you referring to the friction of the character? I’m assuming that what your saying is that you move forward in one direction, then turn and it does start to move that way, but he is still sliding the other way. I don’t know for sure.

Whatever you can take a look at it, even though it’s top secret stuff. Try to get the controls of the character to be like croc. I suck at logic, and therefore I’m not so good at explaining either. And if you could help me make the character jump only on the ground it would be grat too…and not at the cliffs and stuff. It doesn’t seem to work to add 2 materials…

And if you know how, could you please try to give the ground some shade?

Ok if it is that wasy try to do it…

you see big the radius lighter you are the smaller the radius heavy you are

make your character bigger it to small

collision objects there are several ways you can set up your world, and the objects in it, for collisions. you can use simple generic collilion solutions that detect

That is my problem…and of course the crappy controls of the character. It’s like he is ice skating, he is on grass dammit
I think it could be the friction, I know that you should be able to edit the friction somewhere in the material tabs…you know where?
