Character modelling?

Im a little curious about this. When modelling a character for a game, is it better to have the arms and legs of the model facing outward instead of down in a normal position?

A lot of people do this, im not sure of the exact reasons, but id say it makes selecting them easier. It also allow you to model them easier for animation if their stuck out. I’d keep the legs down though.

This is the usual setup that is the best for modeling, and rigging, although, make sure that the palm of the hands are facing down, trust me, I learned that the hard way.
