Character Rig how pin Objects?

I have a Character rigged and has a Hat which I want to move independently. Do I just parent to a separate Bone within the Rig?

Should probably mention I’m using Rigify.

You can parent it to a bone in the rig (probably a bone prefixed with “def”, indicating a deform bone rather than a control or mechanism bone, in layer 20 IIRC for Rigify), or you can use a constraint like a child-of or a copy transforms targeting a bone or empty (which is itself parented or otherwise constrained to a bone in the rig.)
