YOu know those pictures with many different views of a character? Like full view, right side, left side, 3/4ths view, etc. What are they called? I’d like to practice on a low poly model of…someone. Does anyone have a link to a place chock full of these sheets of comic characters or somethig of the sort.

Sense I now know that they are called “Character Model Sheets” does anyone have any idea of a link that may have it. Generally I try everthing but the most obvious site so i’m gonna go check www.charactermodelsheets.com because its probably there

Ok, i have a few sheets that I’ve found, nothing amazing or super-hero-esque but they’ll work for now. All i need is to know how to set up the reference pics like in “Modeling a Low Poly Character” from Montage Studios…any suggestions
Edit them in GIMP or Photoshop or whatever. Make sure that the front and side view have the same height and each parts’ (i.e. eye, nose, mouth) height is aligned correctly. Create two new image files, the front view and the side view of your character’s reference separately. In Blender, in 3d view panel click view – background image. Load your reference images accordingly (front view in the front ortho view window and the side view in the right/left ortho view) and adjust the height and size as you want but make sure the image center in the front ortho view is right in the center. It might be a bad idea but you might want to try http://www.anime-model-sheets.com. I found some simple model sheets there.
