Character's legs go wonky when moving Control Bone far enough

Hello!

I’ve been following this tutorial series:

I’ve got to the point where I have rigged the character and it’s time to animate it. When I move the leg control bone I have far enough to the front of the character, the leg twists around it’s ankle and start of the thigh. I noticed it does this also when I move FootRoll bone far enough. It happens with both legs.

Here’s a gif of the situation:

Thank you beforehand! <3

You are moving your IK bones past your pole targets sphere of influence so that it is in front on your pole targets so it turns around trying to keep the ik pointing correctly. One solution is to go to edit mode and move your pole targets further in front of your legs on Y so that you do not move in front of them and then they don’t turn your ik.

Hey!

Thanks for the response and solution! That helped and now my model won’t have his legs all twisted up when he tries to walk.

You can also parent your pole target to the foot ctrl to avoid moving it to much all the time.
