Chesterfield Chair

Hi everyone, I’m trying to make a Chesterfield Chair… After some time struggling with arrays and lattice I’ve managed to (almost) correctly “wrap” the “skeleton” of the chair with the filling.
But now I’m having a problem closing the filling on the arms…
I’ll add some images to make you understand… Pratically I’ve no idea about how to make the seams on the arms look right…

I’m not completely sure what it’s supposed to look like, but have you tried using the sculpt tools to grab and smooth it to the chair arm?

Somebody posted a method for making throw pillows by using two layers of cloth attached at the edges, set self collision and let the cloth modifier puff out the pillow. Seems to me a similar method might work for your chair upholstery. You would pin the seams and the places where the buttons keep the leather from getting puffy, then set a large value for self collision.

That’s a pretty good idea. I like it!

Ehm I didn’t understand at all and I can’t find the method in any post in the forum…
Could someone explain it again?
