Child object gets collision attributes from the parent

Ok, so what i did was create a small scale object and parent it to a camera
The object is really small (under 0.5 units)

Then i set the collision and all the rest for the object so i can make it a player wondering around through the level

And finally i set the camera to no collision

But the problem is that…

Once i hit ctrl-p, the collision gets restored to the camera, and the huge collision box (which god knows why it can’t be changed) blows everything away once i start the game.

Is this normal ? Is there any way out ?

PS : i use blender 2.54 beta

Activated collision bounds for the player object and specifically set to box or something… not just the default.
