Children Particles

Is it possible to make spawned children particles halos while the original particle is just a vector?

Definitely. I end up doing it accidently more than intentionally, where you forget to change the texture for the children, so your nice halo’d smoke or steam or gaseous effect suddenly turns into soild shaded little wire-like sticks…

Sorry. My bad. :frowning:

Add another material or three to your mesh in Edit (F9)… then go into Materials and make each new one single user, and set them to what Materials / Textures you want for halo particles and vector particles, making a mental note what the index for each (3 Mat 2, object has 3 materials, this is #2, etc.) For mine it was blue wire and red halo.

Then on the particles screen, under Display: , set the material index # to whatever one is the vector one, and turn on vect…

Below that on Children, Set the chance % to be whatever you want, and on each spawned generation, you can set the material index #…
