Hi there, this is my recent project on practicing sculpting for commercial.
Yes, I decided to sculpt the sause instead of using sim since it’s much easy to get the shape than try to control the physics. Anyway, hope you enjoy the artwork.
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
Do have any general tips on how to approach sculpting liquid splashes? Do you model the basic shape first and then use the snake hook brush to extrude further details?
I used curve to create the base shape (much like making stylized hair), then I keep using snake hook to string out the splash, remesh then inflate the tip and smooth the middle to create the drop shape. It’s much easier than I expected but still need much practice to make it looked natural tho.
Thanks, this helps. How long did it take you to model/sculpt the splash in the end? Can it be achieved in a reasonable time frame?
It’s took me about 2 hours to finishing it, most of the time is playing and figuring out the technique and the shape that I wanted because I don’t have much experience with sculpt, I would imagine it’d be way faster if you done this before. Now, knowing what I know it’d took me around 1 hour to do liquid splash like this.
Okay great, good to know. Thanks again
