Chinese Erhu

Hi
Here’s a musical instrument I bought from Beijing couple of years ago. It’s a two string bowed instrument called “Erhu” and it has beautiful sound.

The picture and scene has modelled and rendered 100% with Blender.

If you are interested, there’s a larger version in http://www.kolumbus.fi/more.karvonen/blender/erhu_final_100.jpg

[Edit] And here’s a short Erhu tune (mp3): http://www.kolumbus.fi/more.karvonen/blender/erhu.mp3

Nice Erhu

This is nicely lit and well textured, apart from that I cannot think of much more to say…

Great! Cool instrument, can you play it?

Looks like an ancient fishing pole…what does it sound like?

clears throat “Eerrrrrrrhhheeeyoooo woo”

…as you can tell I’m not a master of the instrument.

nice ErHu

I have heard a full length Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai story (Don’t know what’s that? Well, it’s Chinese Romeo and Juliet  ) played with ErHu. The tone of ErHu express the tragedy very well.

Yes I have learned to play it little. I wish I had more time for it…

Hahhah  Check out the edit in the first message, there’s a link to mp3 tune now…

Oh my :o I think you found my Erhu! It’s the one on the right hand, on the top picture, thank you!

Turns out I hear these things all the time in movies…I just had no idea what instrument it was

hi!

how much did it cost?

All the images are dead.

It’s an old post, but it’s funny someone brings this back up.
In the last future music there is a cool VST plugin allowing you to create that typical Erhu sound in whatever sequencer you’re using, in my case that’s FL studio.
Sounds nice, only too bad you can graphically alter the tremolo or the falloff as I’ve seen in other VST’s.
But hey, it’s freeware!

Oops. Didn’t notice it was two frikkin’ years old.

Why do people go through threads that old?

Well, it looks like Leonard Bermas here joined with the specific reason of finding out how much MoreK paid for the instrument :]
