Choosing a laptop for blender and drawing design

Did you just imply i was lying? That is strong. As i said i only use the Laptop for modelling with Eevee and there is a significant difference with or without HIP activated in the viewport. I have a powerful desktop to render which i hardly do as i am more in using game engines for realtime stuff. How do you know btw. if you do not even own the hardware? That smells like bullit!

Incorrect information do not necessarily means lying.
But i say you are not being fair to the OP. You say that you will not buy Nvidia again but you don’t justify.

AMD GPUs don’t get attention from blender because it’s a driver problem rather than their hardware technology.

NVIDIA supports constant driver updates.
That’s why it can be used stably even on old hardware.

Thank you. I will look at those sites for the laptops I am narrowing down to. That is really helpful.

Ndivia does not support ANY Open Source driver updates at all. AMD on the contrary does. No justification necessary, or is it ?

Hi. I have been looking at a variation on what you had suggested (is slightly over the budget I set but now thinking of waiting to see if I need a pen display and getting in a few months if I do).

ASUS ProArt 16 H7606WI 16.0" 4K OLED Touchscreen Laptop (AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, 32GB RAM, 2TB PCIe SSD, Backlit Keyboard, Windows 11, Wi-Fi 7) Includes Stylus Pen https://amzn.eu/d/0LRG6CK

I think I have checked everything out but wanted to ask if there is anything that has changed to its detriment due to changing the screen size?

Reviews appear ok. Battery life is apparently not amazing but seems ok and I can usually plug in.

It is good. If you can find one with RTX4060 it should be cheaper. The 4070 is not a significant advantage over 4060.

Note1 if you are already thinking in buying an independent pen display then it do not make sense to buy a laptop like this with it.

Note2 i don’t think you can replace and increase the memory to 64GB on this one. But it should not be necessary looking that you lived with 4GB until now.

Thank you for your help.
I didn’t realise how big 16" was until I got a tape measure out over the top of my surface. I think this will be big enough to not need the pen display. But if I decide I would like it for the functionality and surface feel then it would work with this one. I will have a look around and see if I can get the 4060.
I really appreciate all the help in this forum. I would never have worked it out on my own.
