A Christmas animation I made for this year’s Animadvent in Blender, inspired by the Liechterwecke tradition in Baden, Switzerland. In this tradition, children walk through the city with little bells to “wake up” the Christmas lights.
Animadvent is an animated Advent calendar where a different Swiss animator creates an animation for each day in December. Check it out on Instagram, it’s really cool: Animadvent on Instagram
Very nice animation! And, much to my surprise, I recognize the street! Camera is from the direction of Cordulaplatz! I’m not cheating, I don’t live in Switzerland but I have been in that street often, many years ago
Thank you for the animation and the bittersweet sense of nostalgia.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s amazing that you recognized the street—Cordulaplatz in Baden is indeed the inspiration for this shot. It’s always special to hear when a piece resonates personally with someone, especially from so far away.
