Citroën 2CV

This is my first project in Blender, I’m trying to do a Citroën 2CV. I’m just starting so I need help and I would be really pleasured about your tips and advices. I’ll try to post a new render every day.

I’m making the car a little better looking

A new update from this morning. It’s not yet good, but I’m learning a lot so I’m really happy!

Brand new topology, so I have a more real car now, and not a cartoon car.

I continue working on the model, but I have some problems. When I render the model I this awful problems, what can i do?

show mesh and i think you are using a lot of subdivision ?

Thanks Kramon, I was searching in google and I found that was a problem with edges creases (I didn’t know what they were), so now I can advance a lot!

Very nice mate  Could you post som wireframes also?

I know that the wireframe is not clean enough but I’ll try to improve it. I want to advance! All critics are welcomed :stuck_out_tongue:

Try to avoid using triangels.
Yes, it is quite bumpy in some places, but for a first model I still think it looks quite good (I’m also still working on my first model).
I don’t know what is your technique, but try to follow the golden rule (as I named it myself lol) of not extruding smaller planes to bigger ones but rather subdiving big planes in halves and trying to create curves as clean as possible.
There are some great tutorials out there on youtube that shall help you more than my words  One that helped my a lot is this: http://m.youtube.com/user/Iron18D It’s a long series, but worth spending the evenings

Thanks a lot mate! I’ll see that tutorial tomorrow. I’ll also try to remove all the triangles and have better mesh.

A new update, I have been working on the front of the car, making a clean mesh and adding detail to it. A lot of work yet :stuck_out_tongue:

For your first project it is going well. Keep it up and don’t get demotivated!

It’s not a big update today, but the car has windows now!

i have been very busy this days so I have not a lot of improvements. I continue working on the mesh but I want to start with materials soon!

First try with materials and first contact with cycles. I think that i found the final color.

its starting to look good  what node setup are you using for the paint? because there are some nice car paint shaders floating around this forum

I saw a tutorial and maybe is from this forum

it is looking good dude, i think dont get tooo caught up in materials yet whenever i do that too early i get fed up and give up on the model  this will look sweet when its done!

Thanks Aidan, I will try to not focus on the materials :o
