City generation software & Blender

Hey everyone I don’t know if you’re familiar with a city generation software called Urban Pad but it’s a city creation tool using buildings, houses, structures etc from a variety of 3D modeling programs including Blender. They recently added export support for UDK and Unity3D which greatly increases work flow. I don’t work for Urban Pad, I’m just a developer who uses Unity3D, and I really hope this post isn’t misconstrued as spam because it really isn’t.

However I wanted to put the word out because Urban Pad is normally $700 but they have a promotion going on right now where you can buy it for only $29. This is for the FULL indie license, however the catch is if they do not sell enough then no one gets a license and they’ll refund 100% back to everyone.

The forum rules will not allow me to post a link so I won’t (because again I don’t want this to be misconstrued for spam) but if you’re interested you can google Gamr7 or Urban Pad and click on the “Special Offer”.

I really hope we make the goal there’s a lot of people excited on the Unity forums and the cut off date is October 2nd so time is running out.

Looks like great stuff.

As he can´t post links, here´s the link for the intrested:
http://www.gamr7.com/init/urban_pad/special

And I know the license question is next, here it is:

Ürban Pad Indie:

  • 1 seat

  • public forum

                                Restrictions:

  • 1/ maximum 4 licences per person. see the details here.

  • 2/ Companies or incorporated entities that had a turnover in excess of US$100,000 in their last fiscal year must use Ürban PAD Pro.

Sounds fair to me, looks like a nice addition for toying or freelancing, buying a license.

@arexma- thanks for posting the link!

Just wanted to give everyone an update. We are REALLY close to the goal!!! Check out the progress bar from the link above!! We have until October 3rd.

That’s a hell of a deal. I wish I had caught this sooner. I took advantage of a similar offer that messiah studio had not too long ago. I probably could have gotten a lot more use out of this software, but $700 is a lot of scratch for something toward a hobby.

I think there’s still time and it looks like we made it too!!
