Far into the future, in a galaxy closer than you think…
The universe had reached a state of relative calm. For a time, law enforcement officers became lax about their duties. Trade-route pirates became relatively scarce, having opted for sponsored crystal mining on the Outer Rim. They could make as much in a profitable day of harvesting than they did in a week of piracy, and the risks were far less. The Outer Rim became a sort of Earth Australia as it began; a respectable haven for outlaws and criminals to turn over a new leaf in life.
The peace was in part due to the patrolling efforts of a breed of Xangtan from a remote galaxy, rarely marked on any map. They were excellent navigators, due to an abnormally large left cranium, which gave them unparalleled logic and quick thinking. They flew the galaxies at random in pursuit of the extinction of evil, and after such a quest would be completed and the criminal banished to the Outer Rim, local people somewhat affectionately referred to the unofficial denizens of the law as “Knights.”
The Knights also possessed great strength in their stocky bodies. Their extreme brain capacity allowed them to work smart, not hard, but their muscle gave them an edge when it came to blows. More than one Xangtan had worked his way out of a tense death situation through brute force alone. Technology advancements allowed them to assist their natural eye and ear faculties through mechanical implants.
But as the pirates realized that the galactic police were sleeping on their jobs, they began to lust again for the heat of battle, and they began returning to their ships. The Xangtan honed their weapons, ready to continue their destined work…

This is a model of a male Xangtan, Ciúin Buile (Silent Fury), often known simply as Buile (BWIL-e). Like most Xangtan, his body developed rapidly as a youngster and it was well known that Buile was one of the strongest young warriors to ever fly the pirate sectors. Brave sometimes to the point of rashness, Buile did not wear body armor for the majority of his adventures, preferring to trust in his electronically-augmented sight and hearing to keep his hide in one piece. All Xangtan wear close-fitting helmets of sorts which provide this technology.

(I would like to note for the benefit of all that this is NOT a character inspired by any movie you can think of. I am attempting to go completely original here. Any similaries to people or characters of fact or fantasy, living or dead, is completely coincidental.)
