Clicking on Emptys crash

I am using Blender 2.28a on a Windows XP, and keep getting this odd
event. Sometimes when I click on an empty, Blender gives me an error and crashes. Anyone else having this problem?

I don’t know of a solution though. What kind of video card do have?
