I am not sure if it’s something I triggered by mistake, or else, fact is that when I click (once) on an object, or collection it hides it, either the given item, or the one below/above it.
Any idea?
I have never seen this happen…so I have no idea where to start…
Let me see if I understand…
So, you Left Click on something in a Collection…Does it completely vanish from the Blend File? Does it re-appear if you Left-Click on something else?
Try this…Open Blender
Go to File > Defaults > Load Factory Defaults. Left Click on the Cube in the viewport or in the Outliner…What Happens?

i just could imagine that you accidentally assigned left click as short cut for delete operation. So maybe you should check your shortcuts.
Yeah, you should try this after doing a File → Defaults → Load Factory Settings and see if it continues. The light has been deleted not hidden since it’s not in the collection anymore.
Was the test file you sent AFTER loading Factory Defaults…as I checked and Left+Click doesn’t remove anything…it works just as it should…and there wasn’t anything amiss with the Key-bindings as I could see…
As to the video…absolutely Left+Click was bound to Delete Object…but not in the file you sent…

Sorry for the confusion, the light was deleted with the “delete” key, not by the left click, you may see it with the keystroke reported, at least that is a problem I never experimented.

No, the file was sent BEFORE, anyhow as mentione above, it does not change on my machine!
It seems it occurs after I clik “C” to add collection, will do some more testing.
See if occurs by using A to select all…and then use M to add a new collection…and then try L-Clicking
If all else fails…
? Did you use the installer or the zip file to get Blender…
You might just have to remove Blender and then do a clean install…or add using the zip ( which is my preferred way of getting Blender )

Did what you suggested, and after few clicks, and moving out of the new collection one of the objects, when clicking on it it would hide the collection!
Installed using installer, I will use the zip, I must have not payed attention the first time, and by habit kept using installer, but I do see why you prefer the zip, which I will too from now on.
I think I have to live with it, I just downloaded/extracted the 3.4.1 version, and after creating the collection, and clicking on another object the collection goes unvisible.
I tested on 2.9.1 and 3.1.2, and no problems, it occurs on 3.3.0, and 3.4.0, and 3.4.1
I am using windows 8.1
Make sure that in User>Your Name>Appdata>Roaming>Blender Foundation>Blender
The Old data from the installer gets removed…
After you move the contents of the Zip to your Drive…
Open the Folder and then open the Version number folder…
I created a Folder on External Drive…F:Temp/Blender-3.3
I dropped the contents of the zip there… open the Numbered Folder you have…and you should see only Datafiles, Python, and Scripts Folders…
ADD the New Folder called Config
That will add all the things you add or change HERE…
and if you add another more recent version to test do the same …they will not interfere with each other and they can have different add-ons etc …Inside of my version of Config looks like this…
I made a new start-up version for my liking…and it has all my Preferences as well as my Bookmarks recent files, etc…
Currently, I have 5 Versions on the external…a stable release and up to the latest for testing…they all have different settings…
