Hi guys,
I made a kinda contest between Blender and Cinema regarding cloning, instancig parented objects
I must say that after two days spent in Blender I did not reach any good results
Issue is to control one object and the other objects of the same shape follow movements.
I used instancing in blender, later modifiers like array and curve but effects were like a monster in a movie IT.
But in Cinema I got it in 5 minutes, animated feet of a ship.
Can anyone one tell how to do it in Blender quickly?
My problem was that particular parts of the arm they were chaotic after applying modifiers. Everything rotated in all directions.
I also don’t know what you’re trying to achieve, but QuickAssembly add-on has new, geometry-nodes based array & clone modifiers that are perfect. Give it a try if you can
Finally I was able to manage the istancing but I found that I had to use instancing of the empty for collections.
Now I can rotate one object of the collection and the other three rotate the same way. Also I can change the shape of the root object and the other chage as well.
Challange accomplished but I cannot see any experts here to help, why?
Here is the complete set up, four legs duplicated as a collection instances of… instances. Problem was to attach them all under a carrier and rotate/move them along. Constraint “Child of” must have been used. Blender is much complicated in this case comparing to Cloner in CInema. The advantage of collection instances is I can now modify one leg to reshape all of the elements and instances.
I tested the tool and I must say in this case it is useless, you must apply the tool like modifiers to each and every element and then you cannot rotate entire assembly and particular elements.
