can someone please give me some tips on how i can shorten the baking time of softbodies? it takes like 5 min to bake 3 frames any ways u can give blender a powerthirst (lol) or decrease the load?
What version are you using? I’ve noticed that 2.48 takes way longer to bake both Cloth and Softbody sims than 2.46.
Otherwise, try to set the specs to usable minimums in terms of Collision (which takes lots of comp cycles) and keep the Collision objects (things the sim’d objects collide with) as simple as possible.
EDIT: Also have only the necessary objects visible in and 3D Viewports during the bake – displaying unnecessary geometry can slow things down.
