I set up a character with clothes using the cloth simulator and animated and everything works fine except when I render it ignores the cloth modifier and display the original mesh. I think I must just have unchecked something because it works fine in the preview.
Check the little button on the modifier that has a picture (of a city?) on it, and make sure it’s enabled.
Both the scene and preview render buttons are on, so I have no idea whats wrong.
Ok, I don’t know if this is a bug or just a quirk but it seems like if you use subsurface with a different number of subdivision in preview and render mode cloth resets.
