Cloth sim help

I keep having this problem. I have a cloth pinned in the middle of a torus, but I try dropping a rigid body, collision sphere on it but it just goes through the cloth. It looks like its trying to hold it up but it just falls through. Here is a picture so you know what I mean.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I couldn’t find the correct one.

I’ve found the right thread sorry…

If you are trying to have the ball bounce back from the cloth pins, that’s not possible. But to get the ball to be as hidden as possible, you need to increase the simulation quality to a very high level and you need to make sure your plane is subdivided enough times. The simulation looks good for a while until your ball gets too far down. That’s when the cloth starts to freak out.

Yeah I was trying to make it bounce. I’ve been doing experiments with the cloth sim lately. Thanks though

this should help you out, im sure this would be able to do what you’re after

Someone needs to make a tutorial about this because I already have this addon but don’t know how to use it

I watched a few videos on that molecular addon and it looks really cool. I’ll put it on my blender and try to figure it out.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the molecular addon can only really be useful once we can mesh the particles, right? Otherwise it’s just a bunch of balls…so to speak

Is such a thing available?

the particles can be meshed together using the particle link in the addon, each particle can have a specific number of links to adjoining particles, with settings for friction, damping etc. using this you could easily construct a mesh

I watched multiple videos and read the entire documentation on the addon. I still have absolutely no idea how to use it. Also, I have a small suspicion that the addon doesn’t work correctly with the latest version of Blender…

well to be safe, download the sample files on PYRO’s blog, and either re-purpose them or copy the particle settings he used for his cloth sim
