so I was following this tutorial on youtube(youtube.com/watch?v=yC46QDt7u3U) for my project, and at first everything worked fine, but now the cloth sim keep exploding in render for some reason. It worked fine in viewport, everything is in order, modifier etc, i did not use any subsurf for the cloth and even turned off collision.
I have racked my brain for a whole night and still no idea why this is happening.
Have you baked the particles? I see the cloth is baked, but did you also do it for the particle system? And I mean with the bake button, the bake you get just from playing the animation in the viewport is a temporary preview and often gets deleted at render.
When particles aren’t baked, they tend to return to their starting point, maybe try to approximate their motion as they can with limited info, and it looks a lot like the screenshot.
Another thing to check is that all the objects/modifiers, etc are enabled or disabled the same for viewport and rendering. It’s always possible that something isn’t turned on to show in the viewport but it is at render time.
Hi, thanks for the reply guys, appreicate any help.
Oh I didn’t know you could bake the particles, i only baked the cloth sim. But how does one bake particles? I don’t see any button for it on the particle settings.
Hi, yes i have already checked everything again and again, turned on/off modifiers & object render, changing the order and everything.
Also, one thing i havent mentioned is that i think i started having this problem after i gave this ripping effect into 2 different object. Like, it was fine when it was just the skirt, but after i set the shirt to have this effect too it become like this. Though i don’t know if that’s related.
Is it possible that you have something in the particle modifiers that are referencing both objects? In other words, the reason it explodes, is the effect is now being applied twice to the same object, which wasn’t an issue at first, since you only had it on a single object to start with.
