cloth stretch setting

hello,

i was wondering if anyone knows which setting (if any) controls how much stretch cloth should have?

Here’s the wiki entry for the cloth settings

http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Reference/Panels/Object/Physics/Cloth
If you are using 2.5beta I’m sure you can simply find the equivalent settings

thanks so much for your prompt reply! i’ve read all of those entries before, multiple times, and i read them again now just to check again. none of them mention anything about stretching explicitly, and i haven’t been able to verify that any affect stretching. they’re about the same in 2.55, which is addictively nice to work with. i’ve done a fair amount of experimenting myself, and no setting i’ve found so far maintains area. just as an example, the cotton, denim, and silk presets all seem to allow the mesh to stretch. which isn’t really what those fabrics do on their own. if i make a thin horizontal strip of polygons with a different material on a skirt for instance, and just let it drape, no other movement, the strip expands by quite bit in most cases. even for something as stretchy as lycra, that’s kind of unusual. it also compresses in many situations, which is pretty much not possible ever. it’s not a big deal, and i can and do work around this. but if there’s a setting that has implications i’m missing, i’d love to know. i’m not nearly an expert with Blender’s cloth, so i’m thinking there’s people who have discovered much more than i know about cloth properties.

@kobaltkween, did you find your answer?

I was looking for the same thing and I think it’s springs as shown here.
