Clouds from planes

I used this technique with Lightwave

and I want to “translate” it to Blender but no luck… I’ve been trying to clamping a musgrave texture by the distance to the object origin but I don’t know how to manage that. Can anybody help me? I think it could be useful for some of you despite its limitations
