CMIVFX Mammoth modeling question

Hello everyone!

I am new to the forums and new to blender.

I was following the CMIVFX Mammoth video
About 15 min into the tutorial Sebastian Konig performs a loop cut by using control-r, then he hits the ‘s’ key to smooth the cut and adjusts the amount after confirming with a LMB click.

He is using Blender 2.49. How do I do this in blender 2.62?

When I do control-r and hit ‘s’ there is no appllication of smooth to the cut.

I am on a mac using lion 10.7.2.

check the toolshelf, maybe there is an option there.

If you spent the money on the video, I would suggest you go ahead and spend the extra $10 to get the video on 2.49 to 2.5 that he has on cmivfx. It takes you through the whole mammoth series (minus the rigging) and shows you the differences and how it would be done in 2.5. 2.5 is close enough to 2.6 that it makes it pretty easy to do.

For myself, I mostly watched the videos to understand the logic he was using, the techniques, and the workflow. I then watched the 2.49 to 2.5 video to see how to accomplish those things in 2.5. I guess if I was going to follow along with the video, I would probably just use 2.49. Just my $0.02
