My new ocean tutorial will be published this week. To ‘wet’ your appetite I have uploaded an example movie of a to the horizon ocean simulation using Blenders standard unified renderer (No Raytracing) and inbuilt procedural textures.
To view the example movie head over to my website and follow the link:-
I almost didn’t click your link because the picture you posted here doesn’t look all that great, but the animations on your sight are really awesome. I can’t wait for this ocean tut! Thanks for helping us out.
I tried your previous ocean tutorial yesterday and it opened my eyes to some features within blender that I had not encountered before. Based on that 9 second clip I’d say that I’m eagerly waiting for your next tut.
However, I seem to be having trouble getting it to look right. My waves are there, but my small waves don’t seem to be showing up. I’ve checked all of my settings on the textures, and every single one of them matches. I just cannot figure out why they aren’t there. Any tips?
great work, while i have to admit, when this is for a competition that you will have some tough pieces to fight against. the biggest flaw in yuor animation is that it looks like that you have two fractal maps wich are not sync.
the bigger map creating the waves and a smaller one for the surface structure. also the fractal seems to swim.
