Hey guys, hope you are doing well. I posted a while ago about collaborating(volunteer) on animation and I had enough people respond but nothing really happened with it. I am going to work on this animation by myself and if you want to join you can click the link below . I have a very short clip story chosen and started modeling the main character and have a style and set chosen . Which I will post here shortly .If you want some work for a portfolio and this sounds interesting let me know. I will post more about this in a bit here.
Here the story on the first clip.
Clip 1- Boy or Girl sitting on couch watching tv but mostly playing on their cell phone . It is in the afternoon on a sunny day. Suddenly from the other room we here the doorbell ( camera cuts to show front door from outside)and then knocking on the door of a mysterious looking hand. Boy/Girl walks to door and opens door. Nobody is there , but he or she looks down and sees a package sitting on the ground. Clip ends.
Hey it’s a cool project ! I can’t help but I encourage you to create a thread in the WIP section and post from time to time. Eventually someone might want to use this project to practice and work on a few shots.
From experience when directing such projects you should be ready to do 70/80% of the work … Which is understandable, since it’s your project you can put the hours but when participating on spare time someone can’t give the needed amount of time so it represent a substantial amount of work.
In the other hand, the more you progress, the more people know you and better chances that you find people willing to help !
In any case , Good luck with your project and looking forward to see more of it !
This was my plan. I was going to post here in this thread maybe once a week. The only wip section I found was animation and for a while it is going to be modeling.
Cool ! I think the best place would be the WIP section of the Artwork category, it’s unrelated to animation or modeling …
I can move it there if you like, I think this is where you’ll get the most exposure !
Then you can probably create another thread here from time to time to call for help !
Yeh , that is the one I saw. Artwork , WIP …
I also did some render test to see if the render times would be acceptable. I was using Blender 4.2.3 LTS and it didn’t have Light Linking so I tried Blender 5.1 and I could light up the character in my scene and nothing else. My 3 second test render took 3 min 40 seconds on my old pc.(1920x1080) Very reasonable.

i like the animation where he looks at his phone and TV, maybe if you could have his head twitch a little later before the door bell it might improve a little, also possibly keep the camera zooming in instead at stopping when the door bell rings, anyway you look at it Great work on the walk animation!
Hey , Thanks for the comments. I agree with your comments. ![]()
