Color Curves in UV Window

I only recently discovered that the UV texture editor in blender offers RGB curves to affect the active image. Very cool.

However, this feature doesn’t seem to do anything except alter what I see in the UV editor.
How can I apply these texture color curves to the appearance of the object in the 3d window, and the final render itself?

I think you may have to use the curve node and do composite to see any effect from curves.

Just Save the Image after mod.

I tried saving the image after modifying it, but the only format it would let me save as was .exr which I can’t seem to load in any program, including blender. (by the way this was a render result that I was trying to save.)

You’ll have to save the rendered image to a useable format first.

the format for saving is now independent of the format for rendering. the format for saving a UV image is now in the header of the Save Image window, and defaults to Targa. This is new. See the wki on using Texture Paint.

Thanks for the help, Roger. How new is that saving feature? I didn’t notice it in release candidate 1.
