Since alot of the people here forgot/never saw this, and some of the newer people have been asking about them, here’s a tutorial I wrote some time ago (1 to 1 1/2 years ago) on colorbands. Compared to other tutorials it’s simply a mediocre(spl?) attempt at a first tutorial on a trivial subject that is not looked into often. Here’s the url:

Excellent Tute Now if you could just make one that explains what all those buttons do in the cloud, wood, marble and other procedual texture, you would be in my debt. For instance what is the difference between “Hard Noise” and “Soft Noise”?
Well the difference between hard- and soft noise you can see for yourself. Others are also quite simply tested…
valar, im amazed!
im beginning to see you in a completely different light. you actually have a positive side too, curious. i havent noticed it till now.
i havent noticed it till now

maybe its the beginning of a new incarnation of the ValarKing, who knows?
Strange, well I posted this almost a year ago, but thx for the comment anyway. Noone is one dimensional, you must remember. I simply speak my mind, bluntly, whether it be positive or negative.

If you look at this quote. I was asking blendermax. In other words if you do not have anything positive to contribute do not contribute anything at all.

He was kinda telling you to actually try to find out something instead of having it spoon fed to you by us. It was positive input.
If that premise were true then blendermax would have never written the tutorial in the first place. And yes btw I have read the 2.0 guide and the blenderbook.
Thank you Valarking. Useful and enlightening information.
