ColorCube 1.6

Hello everybody,
Because a lot of people wanted a new version of my game, I did it.
The game is now on Windows, Mac and Linux.
It also includes a non-GLSL option.
So, I hope that everybody can get it work!
There’s now 48 levels and online levels.

Here’s the new website: http://www.colorcubestudio.com/

All the downloads are available here: http://www.colorcubestudio.com/downloads.html

Here’s the short new trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKK-p1TXW7A

Have fun.

good luck! especially to the paypal version
will you upload it to gametrailers?
(small info: we need to send our iphone game trailer twice, because they dont publish first. I dont know why)

Thanks.
I’ve already uploaded the trailer to Gametrailers, here’s the link: http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/colorcube/348670
I didn’t have any problem while uploading.
I wonder if this website is so popular. I hope it is.

PS : I’m also going to contact Blender (or BlenderNation), because finally it’s the first Blender commercial game, isn’t it?

This is a really fun game. I never tried out the previous demo because I was lazy, but this is a great game. I love puzzle games like this.

One word of advice though: Protect your work better. I had the entire game cracked in 10 minutes. Maybe you could use some sort of encryption?

P.S. I won’t tell anybody how it’s protected, but I strongly urge you to find a better protection method.

On my macbook Pro (os 10.5.8) the first time I ran it I got the resolution selection window, and after hitting okay it closed- and any subsequent attempts to launch it had no result (it didn’t even start a new process)

PS your website looks good, but the sense of professionalism is lost when you click download and are taken to MegaUpload. If possible, I recommend finding an upload space that doesn’t require you to redirect offsite,

I think no need to put energy to protect the game.
Common users (who buys the game) dont play with cracking and digging the datas…
And the copyrights will protect everything.

We sent our iphone game trailer to the GT staff with good press text. So our trailer is not a user movie. I think it is better, it is listed on the mobil category (“Bacis”, we have 1200 views.).
I dont know how we do because my collegue does it, but I will ask if you want. The only thing I know it is not an user movie and we dont upload it just we sent a link to the staff.

I think your game is very good I think you must

Yes I think this is the first commercial game. I hope they will put it on blender.org.

And other great site is the gamespress.com. Many journalist gets news from there. We sent our press text to they.

Ah my bad english.

wow realy cool !!
now it’s time to make some noise about that game.

Exactly.
Does the demo work on your Linux?

yes perfect - sound, gfx, controls, all work well… ! and the way you added config menu and all is very pro !
(using ubuntu 10.04 with nvidia driver)

Thanks. It’s nice to hear that.

Am i not loosing the copyright when compiling to an exe?
or what have i missed?

It has nothing to do with my game, because it is not compiled in an exe, the Blend file is sent to BlenderPlayer with a simple command line.

The demo works fine here on win 7 64-bit!

The demo worked great for me on Vista SP2

Ill be buying the full game later this week, the ability to make your own levels and share them is really cool

And I hope you get on BN soon.

Thanks. Here’s a tutorial for the level editor: http://www.colorcubestudio.com/editor.html

Beautiful work. Sounds, Graphics, Controls are all spot on. I especially like the controls. Great level design, everything. Beautiful.

Great work quitchou! Really inspirational to see such a solid, professional game made in BGE, thats selling commercially.

I can’t get an official post on Blender.org or BlenderNation …
I don’t know what is wrong. Any ideas?

Sad, but I think they - and overall the Blender community - don’t like the professional games. Especially the commercial ones.

Edit: I have 2-3 big news in last 2-3 years that they dont post… I think they want to build a noobs-community. Too many professional news and noobs feels “I am only a noob”.
