My goal is to combine image sequence data from CT scan with a 2D image texture to make a more appealing visualization. In a simple case of geometry it is possible to compute mesh from voxel data but in this case I have a large and complicated set of images.
To make things clearer I can give as an example a situation where I have CT scan data of a human bone. Despite this being a simple case I would want to texture the bone using a photograph of an actual bone. Then it would be possible to make an animation where the internal structure of the bone is shown with the image texture.
Applying the texture doesn’t have be exact and realistic but I would like to see that extra “something” that would say: “As you can see, this is an actual bone.”
