Render time approx 10hours, 4x1.73ghz cpu, Blender 2.78.

Experimenting with PBR and vegetation, replacing diffuse with subsurf scattering.

Worth noting:

  • No bounce for sun lamp
  • Foreground grass is made by alpha-mapped 2-face “billboard-style” objects.
  • Leaves are also alpha-mapped planes.
  • Use of tessellation to reduce memory usage for background trees
