It’s been a while, but I’ve been doing quite some work recently. In a short period of free time I upped some projects on my homepage, most of them created with blender.
An especially good one is this animation of the Lung and the Alveoli I created for the Fraunhofer Institute (once again). You can check out the whole animation (in glorious 960*544 resolution) and the production report on here.
i wish some one will pay me money too, for my hamble blender skills. but here I guess, no one liked 3d…
It’s really a matter of knowing the right producers. Without solid industry contacts I wouldn’t know how to aquire these projects. And I still can’t live off them, there’s quite a lot of other work I’m doing that doesn’t make it on my homepage.
I had a meeting this morning and I am now very close (almost sure) to get a contract signed for most complex animation-project I have ever done. If this happens it will make all my previous work look rather small.
Awesome. So, you said this is a side business right and you still have a day job? That’s how I am right now with blender… just making some $$ onthe side.
Not exactly. What I really do is run a media-creation business as a freelancer. Not all of my work is animation, I also do editing, compositing, multimedia-programming (Flash) and the occasional DVD-authoring. I’m trying to specialize on animation because it is my preferred kind of work, but I earn my money from a whole range of very different projects.
