Compiling the SPA Studio blender fork onto macOS

Would it be possible to fork this version of blender to macOS platform?

Thank you

Hello !

In theory it should be doable to compile it for MacOS…
However, I think most of the benefits of this release have been implemented into blender in one form or another. Last step came with blender 5 and the improvements to sequencer.

What feature are you after that you think this version has and current blender don’t ?

Also, one of the two main developer of that version is working for blender foundation on blender since a bunch of years now. First on grease pencil V3 and lastly on sequencer !

Hey there, thank you!
Well, a somewhat working/useable/more intuitive use of the onion skin, shift + trace, to name a few - which would be great.

Haaa ok ! thanks for answering ! Looks like you know that build more than I do

I gave the repository a quick look, and it seems that shift and trace is part of their addon, but I didn’t see reference to onion skin in it…

Since the addon is depending on the build and all that is 3 years old it looks like a dead end to have it working on current blender version.

I think you can either try to build that blender version yourself for MacOs, or try to look for alternative tools (addons) with current blender. If you have access to the windows build you might demonstrate how SPA’s tool are better and maybe inspire someone to add that to an addon or else.
