Hotwheels… Beat that!!

Yours is considerably better than mine in most respects… but mine has the same gfx card, a bigger window, is green, and to top it all off, does not run windows vista! So there!

Hey!! Vista isn’t that bad. I mean, there are som compatibility issues, esspecially because i have the vista ultimate 64 bit version! But, its not really bad :eek:yes i know, suprizing!

Win. 98 4mb integrated Intel gfx 512mb ram Pentium 3 20GB HD

beat that

Asus G1S-A1 laptop, just delivered, waiting for me at home as we speak…

beat that

… i wont even try to answer… how long does it take to render just a peview, like 3 years??

At some point I’ll be blending with 6-12+ processors over 2-6 machines. I have 6 cores right now between my desktop and server. Just tying them together is the tricky part.

I render with 5 cores, fully stable, use it several times a day

2 GB DDR2 533 Mhz RAM
250 GB Seagate Barracuda HD
60 GB Western Digital HD
Nvidia 7300 GT AGP 8x
Mobo built-in audio (AC-97)
Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 3.2 Ghz with hyper-threading technology
Antec 900 deluxe gamer case

Could be better, but I’m happy…

Nice, now I’m wondering - is this all one one machine or over several? If all in one machine - 5 is kind of an odd number to have

I just built a new computer:

Intel pentium D dual-core 3.2 ghz cpu
2 gigs dual-channel 667 Mhz ddr2 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 7650 (512MB GDDR3 RAM)
Dual-layer DVD+RW burner
320 gig SATA HD
600 watt power supply
Turtle Beach Riviera soundcard
Running Ubuntu Studio 7.04
In a micro-ATX case with tempurature display

also…
19" LCD monitor with 2ms response time
Logitech Z-2300 THX speakers (subwoofer is bigger than my case)
Novation X-Station-25 synthesizer
Multi-pattern USB condenser microphone

All set up on a hardwood desk custom built by my dad and I.

This should be a productive summer.

Pentium 4 - 2.0 GHz
512MB DDR ram (Just regular DDR)
Nvidia Ge-Force 2 (That’s not a typo folks - 2 is the correct number)
CD-RW
DVD-ROM
80GB HD (Believe it or not, I never needed more)

My excuses:

  • I’m a college student
  • I live on cup noodles
  • I’m broke (&$*@)Looking on the bright side though:
  • If I step up my mugging regiment for about a month or so, I’ll have more than enough for a new machine. (As if I won’t have to do that anyway this year - just to pay my tuition and books)*Sigh

I’ll have to buy a brand new bat…again. (The one from last semester is all worn out)

Being a college student in the US is hard work.

Anyone else here currently attending college in the US? What kind of tactics are you guys employing in order to pay for your education? I’m thinking about moving up from muggings to something a little more sophisticated, like blackmail. I just think it would be more manageable. Also, it would provide me with considerably more time to concentrate on my studies.

ok, so the computer I use more has
AMD 2GHz processor
1.5 Gb ddr ram (128 Mb used by integrated video card)
integrated Nviedia GeForce 6100
80 Gb Hard drive
CDRW / DVD combo drive (doesn’t write DVDs)
standard Emachines case.

4 machines, of which one is dual core. I use distributed rendering. It speeds up rendering times tremendously.

Let’s see…

Windows XP Professional
Intel Pentium D dual-core CPU 3.40 GHz
512 mb of ram
and a Nvidia Geforce 6600 GT.
And I have a 17" SyncMaster 793 mb CRT, though I wish I had an LCD.
That’s all!

Windows Vista Home Premium
19" Dell Flat Panel LCD
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
2 Gig DDR2
250 Gig Hitachi HDD
256 Mb ATI Radeon X1300 PRO.
+
Wacom tablet.

PC= £700
Wacom =£100
5.1Speakers=£50

Total Cost=£850

Look on best friends face when he gets owned on any pc application known to man= Priceless.
