There over 800 prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but they are all empty. These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the United States and all it would take is a presidential signature on a proclamation and the attorney general’s signature on a warrant to which a list of names is attached. Ask yourself if you really want to be on Ashcroft’s list. The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a “mass exodus” of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA. Rex 84 allowed many military bases to be closed down and to be turned into prisons.
Operation Cable Splicer and Garden Plot are the two sub programs which will be implemented once the Rex 84 program is initiated for its proper purpose. Garden Plot is the program to control the population. Cable Splicer is the program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments by the federal government. FEMA is the executive arm of the coming police state and thus will head up all operations. The Presidential Executive Orders already listed on the Federal Register also are part of the legal framework for this operation.
The camps all have railroad facilities as well as roads leading to and from the detention facilities. Many also have an airport nearby. The majority of the camps can house a population of 20,000 prisoners. Currently, the largest of these facilities is just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. The Alaskan facility is a massive mental health facility and can hold approximately 2 million people.

Smurfman (rmember…no more papa) Martial Law isn’t really a joking matter. Not if you’ve ever seen it in action. I’ve seen it happen in thailand. Even us US Servicemen were affected by it. Scary crap. If it ever happened here…there would be mass riots (americans are all spoiled by our freedom) because we’re “lulled” into a false sense of freedom (at least that is my thought on it). Martial Law has been pretty close to being enacted in at least one state recently (when the aftermath of katrina started and people were looting everything they could to “survive”…or to get a new tv lol)

@HouseArrest: I am very sorry for the instability in your country. I cannot even begin to imagine what it would be like living under martial law. I do not mean to make light of the terrible turmoil and life disruption that you or citizens of your country or other counties have experienced. I was expressing my belief to the OP that I think they are being paranoid. In this country, I fail to see how a few camps could even come close to instilling martial law over 360 million citizens spread out in a landmass the size of Europe.I do not deny their existence, and do not deny that there are millions of illegal aliens camping out in our country. I do know that they are an integral part of our economy, and fail to see a situation where they would all be rounded up and put into camps. Here in my county, we cannot even house the ones we have in our jails. I fail to see a situation where thousands of US Citizens would be rounded up and put into camps. I do not deny that this has happened in the past (WWII citizens of Japanese descent interred), but short of another Katrina or comet impact, I may be living in my little smurf world, but I don’t see marital law happening here. I would hope that, in the event of another Katrina, we have something better for our citizens that the Astrodome.

I may be wrong, but its my understanding that Executive Orders are only effective during the term of the President who issues them (most are retracted and/or nullified by additional orders from subsequent administrations.) I also think that all of them are subject to review & action by one of the other branches of the government (judiciary or Congress).

…but yes, for any modern society, any such issues are important. However, Hallucinogen (very appropriate nick for a post of this type, I must say…) if such matters really do concern you, I suggest paying a visit to the local office of your representative or senator to research the current legal status of these alleged “laws”. Its my understanding that the more recent Patriot Act undermines the “freedom” (such as it is) of Americans far more than any of the ones you’ve listed.

I agree with you, but for a different reason. Martial Law being enacted in the US is a very real issue due to the fact that Americans are force fed the idea "I am FUCKING FREE GOD DAMN IT!!! since the time our mommy or daddy gave us our first choice of juice. The government would have no issues enacting martial law…none whatsoever (dependant on the situation though). The issue would arise when Americans refused to accept thier new found “freedom”. Sorta like the conflict in IRobot, but instead of robots its american soldiers. Could you imagine having to ask your younger brother, who you picked on your whole life, if you get a pass to leave your own home after a 9 or 10 oclock cinderall curfew? Hell forget about that, can you imagine having to ask a complete stranger if you could go fill up your car with gas? “hey mr military man, listen… I know we gotta be in by 9 and it 905 now, but i’m outta gas. Can I get a pass to go fill up so I can make it to work tomorrow?” I doubt I’d be the only American saying, “fuck asking…I’m going anyway…I pay taxes…I gave up years of my life for the governement…I’m a grown ass man…I should be able to do whatever I want on my time…I put curfews on my children…who the fuck is uncle sam?” lol.

State terrorism is not about rounding up everybody you may have a “problem” with, it’s about rounding up a few so the rest are cowed. 800 camps is more than enough to keep 360 million people in line.

While there are a lot of gun owners who think as House does (don’t fuck with me, I’m American, dammit!) there are many more who will willingly line up to man those military checkpoints as volonteer vigilantes. Hell, look at the crap people put up with in airports, and the TSA people aren’t even armed. Besides, it probably won’t be military, it will be Blackwater mercenary and Correction Corporation of America hired to do the dirty work.

This is scary stuff. If anything untoward happens in the States between now and when we get those people out of office, everyone will be forced to take a stand.

Orinoco - I’ve got to disagree, the moment when W had enough good will to enforce martial law on the U.S. has passed. He couldn’t control Iraq when the Army wasn’t “stretched” (some would say broken). How is he going to control the enormously higher population of the U.S. (and Iraq, which he won’t give up), when tens of millions are well armed and the majority are already royally pissed at him?
