contents of a .blend file in ascii

Hi,
I’m looking for a solution to get the contents of a .blend file in ascii.

PS: I’m not willing to learn Python. I’m looking for something ready to use.
Thanks

Base64 encode the contents.

Is it a joke?

Is it a Blender Python related issue to place it in the Blender Python forum???

Perhaps, it should be moved to General Support forum(s)?!?!?

Good luck with that then!

if you just want ascii then you should try the “fbx” exporter… that outputs an ascii file that supports meshes, materials, animation, heirarchies, textures, uv sets etc etci… it doesn’t support everything, but is about as complete as it gets…

A friend of mine started writing an xml exporter for blender… not sure how far he got… but I know he didn’t finish it yet…

but depending on what you want you’d be better of writing your own exporter for just the things you need.

Come to think of it, obj is an ascii format too…
