Hello, I am new here to this community.
Anyway, I have been playing around with Geometry Nodes and trying to master it. I made
a simple jellyfish head and below the head, I painted a weight map. The weight map is
used for the distribution of the instances, where the tentacles spread out randomely.
I have trouble controlling the directions of the tentacles. I have provided a image,
what I want.
I have no clue what I am doing, since I am still starting out. I have followed a tutorial, which I
successfully finished, but tried doing the same thing, while tweaking things differently and
understanding the process. I had to google every single node and their function.
Guess I will spend a few hours trying to understand the image you provided, since it is bascially the solution,
but the processes between mine and yours is different. Cant say, how big the difference is tho.
Anyway, thank you !
That is a fun place to be in… you get to experiment and discover things and that can feel very rewarding.
Some advice I have to make the process of discovery more directed is to experiment! Use the Viewer Node and Spreadsheet a lot… (They don’t work so well in Edit Mode, so remember to go into Object Mode when doing GN stuff)
Break your problem into smaller bits and see what happens when you play with values.
